Call for papers

The 13th IEEE International Symposium on Power Electronics for Distributed Generation Systems (PEDG) will be held on June 26-29, 2022, in Kiel, Germany. The symposium invites experts in power electronics and power system to discuss the energy transformation towards greener production and more efficient consumption, preserving and improving the energy system stability and resilience.

This international symposium, sponsored by IEEE Power Electronics Society (PELS) and organized by the Kiel University, will provide an international visible platform for presenting innovative and cutting-edge results in the area of power electronics and distributed generation systems.

PEDG 2022 will feature plenary speeches, tutorials, and regular technical sessions on theory, analysis, design and development, testing, deployment, and impact of power electronics for distributed generation, energy storage, and sustainable sources. Particular attention will be given in this edition to studies, applications, and test cases for the transformation to 100 % power electronics based energy production and consumption, leading to a fully electronic power grid system. The conference will also focus on the reliability of power electronics solutions and their role in increasing the resilience of the energy supply. Attention will also be given to solutions involving a higher social acceptance, achieved involving the local communities, of the green production and use of the energy.

In the previous years, the PEDG workshops have been held with great success in Charlotte, NC, USA (2018), Xi'an, China (2019), Dubrovnik, Croatia (2020), and as a virtual event in 2021. The 2022 event will be a hybrid (in presence and virtual) event combining the best of the two experiences. The conference papers will be indexed by EI and included in IEEE Xplorer.

Selected papers of PEDG 2022 will be invited for possible publication in IEEE Open Journal for Power Electronics at discounted rated, in special compendium celebrating PEDG 2022. The Selection will be based on PEDG 2022 review scores and on feedback from participants to the presentation at the conference. Authors will receive a feedback following the PEDG 2022 conference.

Guidelines

Prospective participants are invited to submit an extended abstract of their original work. The document should be in English and should not exceed five single-column double-spaced pages (excluding references). The submitted abstracts will be subjected to a peer-review process. Detailed instructions on preparation of the abstracts and the submission process will be available on the symposium website.

The submission is now open!

Submission Guidelines

I Prepare the Final Paper

1) The only accepted template for the submission is the IEEE Letter (both for word and latex file). The IEEE conference templates can be found here.

Limitation to 6 full pages, including paper title, authors and affiliations, figures and references (maximum size 2MB). Authors are requested to prepare the manuscripts in the IEEE two-column format template and to translate it in PDF. No other format in the submission and in the final version can be accepted. The IEEE two-column format template can be downloaded from this link. Accepted and presented papers will be published in the conference proceedings, and submitted for inclusion in IEEE Xplore on‐line digital library. Please contact the Publication Chair for any questions regarding your paper submission.

II IEEE PDF eXpress check

Once the final manuscript is ready to submit, authors must create a PDF file according to the IEEE PDF eXpress. All submissions must be IEEE Explore compliant and the only way to insure this is to use IEEE PDF eXpress.

First-time users should do the following:

1) Select the “New Users - Click Here”. 2) Enter the following:

  • 54999X for the Conference ID
  • your email address
  • a password 3) Continue to enter information as prompted.

An Online confirmation will be displayed and an email confirmation will be sent verifying your account setup.

Previous users of PDF eXpress need to follow the above procedure but should enter the same password that was used for previous conferences. Verify that your contact information is valid.

III Final Paper Submission

Please re-upload the PDF file created by IEEE PDF eXpress in the ExORDO paper submission system (https://pedg2022.exordo.com).

IV Author Registration

At least one of the authors for the final paper needs to complete the registration and payment. The details of the registration/payment procedure will be published on conference Web pages in the next few days. Please disregard security warning on the first registration page, caused by not latest version of our server operating system. But this page has security certificate. You will not leave any banking dana on this page, for payment you will be transferred to fully secure bank service page.

*Note

  1. In order to have your paper published to the IEEE Xplore library, it is required that you PAY at least one full registration for the paper, ATTEND on-site or virtual conference and PRESENT your paper. This policy applies equally to oral and poster presentations.

  2. Your final paper in PDF format with IEEE Explore compliant must be submitted no later than 15th May, 2022 23:59 CET at https://pedg2022.exordo.com. Your paper must comply with the specifications listed in the guide for authors. Due to publication deadlines, no time extensions will be granted.

  3. Your final paper will be submitted for plagiarism checking to the IEEE Crosscheck system. Papers found to contain plagiarized material will not be accepted for publication.*
